Create your own silicone moulds and cast a piece of unique resin jewellery.
Day 1 - Create a silicone mould. Whislt waiting for this to set, you will practice casting resin in pre made moulds.
Day 2 - Pour resin to cast your unique piece in your silicone mould.
Learn finishing techniques using your set pieces from day 1
In this special weekend workshop, you will learn:
-how to select objects that are suitable for casting
-how to prepare a reusable silicone mould
-how to mix and cast resin using your silicone mould
-how to colour resin
-how to embed objects in resin
-how to clean up resin castings
-how to turn your resin casting into a finished piece of jewellery
Jo Pudelko is a contemporary craftsperson whose work consists of mixed-media jewellery and small scale sculptural objects with the occasional accompanying screen print. She specialises in the use of plastics and often incorporates found objects in her work. She creates works for exhibition and sale from a ramshackle caravan parked at the foot of the beautiful Ochil hills.
Jo is an experienced jewellery lecturer and tutor with over ten year experience in delivering courses and workshops. For the past five years she has been involved in delivering the undergraduate program at Edinburgh College of Art. She also teaches a weekly adult education class in Edinburgh teaching jewellery skills to students who range from complete beginner to advanced.
