Currently my work influences fall somewhere between Egon Schiele and Tom Wesselmann – a kind of mix of expressionism and abstract pop with sometimes disturbing, mostly strong coloured, patterned, hard edge shapes and forms.
I like to use humour in making a point, even political ones, but other
areas of interest are the social and psychological influences we are all consciously or otherwise subject to. Some of my work firms up on how I respond to society’s blindspots.
I work with mixed media, but mostly with acrylic on traditionally
stretched canvas, which gives me the immediacy of effect in selecting or altering my range of vibrant colours.
From these elements and ingredients I create my narratives.
